On El Pedocín beach in Trieste, a wall still separates men from women. The documentary records a year in the life of this unique community—mainly elderly people with stories of war and migration. Observing the bathers, the film shows the paradoxical function of this wall: it does not separate, but preserves everyone's freedom, while provoking reflection on the borders, identities, and walls of Fortress Europe.
