It is a coming-of-age story with elements of social thriller, set around a fourteen-year-old girl, an eight-year-old boy, and a bankrupt lumber warehouse in Athens during the 2012 economic crisis. The minimalist direction, using a handheld camera and natural lighting, builds a raw, almost documentary-like atmosphere. As the director notes, it is “a political film, not about the crisis, but one that contains the crisis”, exploring its human consequences through the gaze of a teenage girl.
