Pedro is a middle-aged electrician living with his mother and his brother’s family in a remote village nestled in the thick forests of the Western Ghats. One monsoon night accidentally kills a cow that belongs to his landlord Hegde. Sensing trouble, Pedro leaves town. Hell breaks loose in the village. Filled with anxiety, Pedro has no way but to return. With his first feature film, Natesh Hegde signs an insightful and masterfully directed drama, heir to the cinema of Robert Bresson, Abbas Kiarostami and Satyajit Ray.

Director, scriptwriter Natesh Hegde was born and raised in Yellapura, a small town in the Western Ghats of Karnataka. He studied the master course in journalism at Karnataka University Dharwad. The two short films he directed, The Crab and Distant (2018), screened in many national and international film festivals. Pedro is his debut feature and was part of NFDC Film Bazaar work in progress lab 2019, and was awarded DI support for the film.
