OPEN LETTER

Scene from Giorgos Stampoulopoulos' film Open letter "The shooting began on March 20, 1967 in the then familiar form of the independent production that is not part of the established trade racket. By April 21, 2/3 of the filming was done, leaving the crucially important scenes – such as the party or the ending – to be shot. The imposition of dictatorship, apart from the question of carrying on with the shooting or not, was not only instrumental in the way the filming ended – and its impact on the end result itself – but also determined what happened to the film in the future. 'Three shots in one' type of scenes were taken, night shots because of the curfew, with the director escorted to the police station for explanations, etc." Giorgos Stampoulopoulos
