Review of the film written by Mona Mitropoulou. She states that the Americans, more than any other nation, felt compassion for the drama of the man returning home from war "trying to pick up the pieces of his devastated life". There is a brief note about the script, which is based on a novel, and Mitropoulou concludes that it is "a landmark in filmmaking". After all, the film won 7 Oscars.
