Visconti manages to give the decline of an entire class through the destructive furor of Nazism. There is a reference to the first collaboration of Visconti with Dirk Bogard in an "amazing performance", to the nightmarish performances of I. Toulin and H. Berger and to Jarre's music that the production imposed on the director.
