Credits It says in the programme that Bergman and Mozart's music crossed paths at THE MAGIC FLUTE. Bergman's production breathed life back into the genre of lyric theatre in a way that was "impressive", "vivid" and unpretentious. As a result, the opera, which was looked upon as a "museum piece", assumed an air of rare cinematic poetry and became known to an audience that was not aware of its existence. The programme briefly refers to other successful film adaptations of Mozart's work and then re-focuses on Bergman's THE MAGIC FLUTE, where "the beauty of imagery and the fascination of music coexist in perfect harmony". The programme concludes with words of praise for the cast.
