The programme, written by Mona Mitropoulou, starts with some brief biographical information on the creator. Then, it informs us that the film is based on the screenplay of a TV serial with a wealthy heiress as the heroine, who one day finds a stranger settled in her home claiming that he is her brother, long considered dead. The programme points out certain elements of the film, such as the “melodramatic suspense” and the “unexpected ending”. It concludes with the discovery that, if it hadn’t been for the performance of brilliant actors, with amazing Britishness", the film would have been a “flop”, despite the fact that in the past Anderson had followed the tried and true formula of adapting widely read books for film, such as: "Around the World in 80 Days" in 1955 and "1984" by George Orwell in 1956.
