The programme begins with a reference to the work of Stanley Krammer , a special character in Hollywood, who was recognized as a director and producer. It presents many of his films, which stand out for their quality and their directorial inspiration. In the film NOT AS A STRANGER, based on a novel by Morton Thompson, he is, for the first time, both the director and the producer. The film is characterized by subtle psychological fluctuations and is dependent on the personality of the heroine, played by Olivia de Havilland, one of the leading stars of old-time Hollywood.
