The programme mentions the trend toward co-productions, which started in the 1950s with France, Italy and other neighbouring countries, and refers to the creators and their films. Among them is André Cayatte, who made the film AN EYE FOR AN EYE, the third part of a courtroom trilogy that was censored. In AN EYE FOR AN EYE the director deals with the stance of man towards society and his own conscience. The film is psychological and painful – a troubled conscience seeks, but does not find, absolution. On the contrary, the final resolution is death. Finally, the presentation gives a brief account of the life and the other work of Cayatte.
