The programme presents a filmography of Chile during the silent film era. “THE HUSSAR OF DEATH” comprises a representative example of the large cinematic oeuvre of the poet, actor and director Pedro Sienna. The director was inspired by the exploits of Manuel Rodriguez, the national hero of Chile, who fought for the independence of the country. The film is characterized by its poetic conception and the fluency of its depiction of the situations it presents.
