ΤΑΙΝΙΟΘΗΚΗ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ, ΜΙΚΡΗ ΛΕΣΧΗ (ΚΑΝΑΡΗ 1) - ΡΟΖ ΜΑΡΙ
The cinematic adaptation of the well-known American operetta by Oscar Hammerstein II (a huge success on Broadway) by the famous director W.S. van Dyke in 1935, with the duet Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy as the protagonists, was not the only one. Before this particular one, there was also the one by Lucien Hubbard in 1928, and later one by Mervyn LeRoy in 1954. The programme also notes that this was the first appearance of James Stewart on the screen.
