The knowledge of Japan in the western world before the film “RASHOMON” by Akira Kurosawa in 1951, was very limited and fragmentary. This creation by the Japanese director presents the public with Japan’s genuine image, opening the gate of demons and bringing to life an entire empire of the senses. The notes refer analytically to the plot of the film, while observing that good is presented in an unprecedented way – both visually and rhythmically – allowing the audience to participate almost physically in this frantic game of eroticism and nature.
