The notes begin by observing that, in the late 1950s and early 1960s, the so-called “Saxon Revolution” took place in England, using literature and cinema to highlight the problems of the working class. Some characteristic examples are mentioned, such as: "ROOM AT THE TOP" and "THIS SPORTING LIFE". In the film "SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY MORNING", the scenario for which was written by Allan Sillitoe and was based on a novel of the same name and author, the director Karel Reisz portrays on the big screen the life working class people. The performances of Albert Finney and Rachel Roberts were exceptional.
