The film “SAYONARA” by Joshua Logan, a modern version of “Madame Butterfly”, is based on the novel of James Michener and is about the story of people from different races who fall in love. Of the two love stories that are told, one ends with a break-up and the other with suicide. Special reference is also made to the music of Franz Waxman.
