A source of inspiration for Swedish director Ingmar Bergman is man himself, his soul, his relation to the environment and other people and his internal conflicts. In "AUTUMN SONATA" he focuses on the mother-daughter relations. The note includes a synopsis of the film and aptly remarks that Bergman and Strindberg, through an autobiographical and self-psychoanalytical procedure, lead us to a confrontation with our inner self. The cast are Liv Ullmann and Ingrid Bergman.
