The film is a rendering of “PHAEDRA” by Rakinas to the “modern and cosmopolitan environment of Greek ship owners”. The script was written by Margarita Limperaki and Jules Dassin and the cast included M. Merkouri as Phaedra, A. Perkins as Ippolytos and R. Vallone as Theseus. The film depicts the “existence of the spirit of people’s collective expression” through the Greek treasures of the British Museum, the Greek sea and the sense of tragedy.
