ΤΑΙΝΙΟΘΗΚΗ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ, ΜΙΚΡΗ ΛΕΣΧΗ (ΚΑΝΑΡΗ 1) - KIERION
After a short reference to the director’s activities before KIERION, the long lasting program mentions the distinctions that the film was awarded with and then it analyzes its plot which takes place in Athens of 1967. It informs us that KIERON was finished in 1968 and came out to the German cinema illegally. It came out in Greece after the dictatorship. Emphasizes that with this film the director presents the opinion that “the personal heroism is not enough to solve a political crisis” especially when the paramilitary state and its connections with foreign covert agencies interfere. The program concludes with the statement that many well known Greek directors appear in the film.
