The program, created by Aglaїa Mītropoulou, begins with presentation of biographical data of the filmmaker. It informs us that BLACK LAND was filmed in collaboration with writer Nikos Sfiroeras (script) and with few technician friends of the filmmaker (who worked as volunteers) after his cinema studies in Paris. Emphasizes the fact that the film talks about the life of workers (for the first time in the Greek cinema) at the emery mines of Apiranthis in Naxos island. It mentions that although the movie has much incompleteness, its “direct” photography and its simplicity contributed to a more qualitative result but did not bring commercial success.
