ΤΑΙΝΙΟΘΗΚΗ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ, ΜΙΚΡΗ ΛΕΣΧΗ (ΚΑΝΑΡΗ 1) - ΜΙΑ ΞΕΧΩΡΙΣΤΗ ΜΕΡΑ
A day in May of 1938, and while Rome is preparing to cheer Hitler who is coming to visit, a housewife and mother of six children (Sophia Lauren), in her effort to catch the bird that left its cage, meets Gabrielle (Marcello Mastroianni), a co-tenant of hers in the project complex, who will be exiled on the next day because of his socialist convictions and his homosexuality. These two oppressed, marginal and undesired people of the fascist urban society, will experience unexpectedly an unusual, SPECIAL DAY. Scola, who presents the situation of his heroes with a lot of tact and emotion, for this film of his he won in 1977 the Special Award of the Festival in Cannes.
