In the film, ABOUT NICE (1929) by Jean Vigo is considered to be the first French Social Documentary and is a caustic satire of the social behavior of the people of that time. On the one hand the rich gentlemen at large of the Cote d' Azure and on the other the people in the slumps of Nice.
Jean Vigo died in the early age of 29 leaving behind a brief work (2 documentaries and 2 short movies) which, however, was enough to make apparent the talent of the French cinematographer.
