In the film THE STUDENT OF PRAGUE (DER STUDENT VON PRAG) of Stellan Rye we find all of the elements of the classical German cinema: real external and lighting effects and a romantic ambiance. The film is based on a novel by H.H.Ewers. The director is Danish and transfers into the film his influences from the Scandinavian cinema, which seems to prefer the shooting location the outdoors environment.
In the STUDENT OF PRAGUE the events are placed in the realm of imagination and fairy tale the atmosphere of which is achieved using the special cinematographic means.
