ΚΙΝΗΜΑΤΟΓΡΑΦΙΚΗ ΛΕΣΧΗ ΛΑΡΙΣΗΣ - ΖΥΛ ΚΑΙ ΤΖΙΜ
Program of the Larisa Cinema Club, a branch of the Film Archive of Greece.
The front cover bears the title of the film that is screened: "JULES AND JIM " by Francois Truffaut at the ACROPOLE movie theatre.
The introductory note on the film, written by Barbis Vozalis, begins with a brief introduction regarding the director, his passage from critical analysis to direction, and his first films: «THE 400 BLOWS» and «KILL THE PIANO PLAYER» that are to establish him immediately as one of the most important representatives of the nouvelle vague. «JULES AND JIM» is the story of two friends, a Frenchman and a German, a Don Quixote and a Sanchos, who meet a feminist. All three have free views on love and the woman constantly swings between the two men. This is a dramatic comedy, a genre that requires particular dexterity in the development of characters. Through the extensive use of the panoramique, Truffaut introduces the free expression of psychographic novels, creating a true cinematic poem, where friendship, love, naturalism and mysticism mingle and are set off through Jean Moreau’s unique temperament.
The following page features a brief note on Aglaia Mitropoulou’s valuable contribution to the Greek cinema. The back cover bears a full-page advertising insert.
