ΚΙΝΗΜΑΤΟΓΡΑΦΙΚΗ ΛΕΣΧΗ ΛΑΡΙΣΗΣ - ΛΑ ΣΤΡΑΝΤΑ (ΠΟΥΛΗΜΕΝΗ ΑΠΟ ΤΗ ΜΗΤΕΡΑ ΤΗΣ)
Program of the Larisa Cinema Club, a branch of the Greek Film Archive. The cover features the title of the film: ”THE ROAD (LA STRADA)", its translation in Greek «SACRIFICED BY HER MOTHER » and the listing of the names of the director Federico Fellini and the leading actors Anthony Queen, J. Massina, R. Bazeheart. The film is shown at the “ACROPOLE” movie theater. The fly bears a note on the film, edited by B.V. (apparently Barbis Vozelas), which begins with a brief biography of the director and his filmography. The note states that this is the first one of Fellini’s films to be screened in Greece. It then provides the film’s plot «for the cultured members of the club”, according to the author’s note. The drama of Jelsomina, the film’s heroine who cannot find ανταπόκριση in her need for tenderness and love, encapsulates, according to the director, man’s eternal drama of seclusion and the inability to communicate with his fellow men and be understood and accepted.
