Three locations ‒Spain, a Lithuanian Baltic resort, and an Austrian forest‒ are filmed over time using a unique method: the same 16 mm film is run through the camera three times, each filtered through red, green, or blue. This layers time and color into a single, fictional film-time where landscapes become anonymous and perception is heightened. The artificial soundscape, built from field recordings, blends with the layered imagery to create a fictional yet natural experience ‒ the essence of experimental cinema.

Viktoria Schmid (b. 1986) is a Vienna-based visual artist and filmmaker. Her practice, spanning film, sculpture, and photography, investigates historical image-making, the representation of nature, and the development of cinema, often letting the media themselves act as co-authors. Her work has been exhibited at institutions including Belvedere 21 and Kunsthaus Graz and screened at festivals such as TIFF, Viennale, and Rotterdam. Awards include the Austrian Short Film Award (2023) and the State Stipend for Photography (2022). Schmid studied at the Friedl Kubelka School and holds an MA from the University of Art, Linz.
