35 mm MODULITE Optical Sound Recorder

This is a machine which converts sound waves into electrical pulses, which are recorded on ‘sound negative’ film. This then transfers the material of the final mix to be printed on a copy with the image. As a result, the ‘track’ of optical sound on the side of the film is transformed into sound in the process of projection with the help of special scanning by the projection bulb. Made in America during the 1960s. [It was donated by Olympia and Thanasis Papadoukas.]
