The film is based on the novel "Oblomov" of the classical writer of Russian literature, Ivan Goncharov. "we wanted "Oblomov" to be a literary film" says the film maker. The movie sequences of Michalkov are amazing, full of power and expressiveness. The plot is centered around the dull hero, Oblomov, who, like the other characters in Michalkov's films also, is turned to the past. Perfect atmosphere and performances, magically directed.
