The film, according to the program, "belongs to the moralist preaching of war time that Hollywood screened with an intense religious propaganda". The movie theme is taken from Kronin's novel and Gregory Peck (a very good performance) "follows the trends of the time and becomes a priest". There are comparative references made to older films with priests and details are given about the life and work of the director.
