Contrast-glass
Yellow-colored viewing filter or contrast glass for black and white photography or filming. It is useful for a director of photography to be able to see and assess the ‘contrast’ of the scene that is to be filmed, with respect to the lighting that has been selected. Often the ‘contrast glasses’ are designed and offered to the director of photography by the company which manufactures the film that has been chosen for the filming. There are various ‘contrast glasses’, depending on the type of film: for more or less sensitive films, for use with black and white or colored film, etc. The exhibit belongs to the beginning of the ‘60s. Company: GEVAERT FILM, MADE IN BELGIUM.
